Hello, I was just looking to see how this Xcaliber 6 shaft compares to the Maltby distance series, and Aldila NVS in a stiff flex for a driver. I have played the NVS, but not the others. The NVS is nice feeling, but sometimes if I go after one it gets a little loose and I end up with something high and leaking right. I have since changed that shaft out to an original Diamana Blueboard 63 stiff and really like that a lot. I was looking for another shaft at a cheaper price point to put into a back up driver. Something with a standard balance point and between 60-65 grams to give a mid launch mid spin type of performance.
The NVS has similar specs, but i think your experience would be consistent with what I would say about it. The MPF Distance is similar specs to the Xcaliber 6 and would be the least expensive alternative in the ball park. A couple of others to consider would be the UST Axivcore Tour Green 65 S or the UST V2 65 S. They should feel a little more tip stable with slightly lower torques and are both mid trajectory shafts like the Xcaliber. The original Blue Board is a real good shaft, but was actually considered a mid/high trajectory shaft. I think it played more like a mid trajectory.
