I’ve got some older dynalite shafts that are dimpled at the tip. They are very difficult to install ferrules on, and a standard 370 OD head is very, very tight. I have cleaned the hosels completely. You almost have to screw the heads onto these dimpled shafts. Don’t even ask about ferrules!! What gives with these dimpled shafts. Only seen them on a few sets of shafts.
Dimpling of shafts used to be done a lot more than it is now. It does oval the tip slightly, creating a snug fit. You can ream out the hosels slightly (not really recommended), or simply drive the shafts on. If you can get the tip of the shaft in the hosel, you should be able to get the head on. As far as the ferrule, try reaming the inside out to enlarge the ID slightly and when you are ready to install, warm the up to soften them up.
