New clubs on the way. The irons will be 1/2 inch short which lowers the swing weight range to C7-D0 from D1-D3. Would like to ensure I am closer to D2/3 than D0. Presently using Golf Pride MCC+4 at 52 grams; like the grip, but I alter the upper hand area by adding 2 wraps + 2-way tape. Am considering going to The Pure grip at 46 grams +/- with 2 upper wraps and a total of 4 lower wraps plus 2-way tape. Any idea of the weight differential; do I lighten enough to return my swing weight to the desired range of D2/3?
I don’t think you will get there with the 46 grams vs the 52 (only worth 1.5 swing weight points) with the added wraps you plan to put on with the Pure grip. You might get back one swing weight total, but hard to be precise in the prediction. Might need to go lighter on the grip end or simply add a little weight to the head end, using shaft tip weights when you assemble.
