I noticed that most jumbo and oversize grips have an inside diameter of .600 across different manufacturers, but that they vary in terms of gram weight. This leads me to believe that grip sizes in terms of outside diameter MAE vary from manufacturer to manufacturer. Is this the case, and of so, how can I get an idea of jumbo grip size in terms of outside diameter for different brands?
.600″ is a pretty standard grip core size (inside diameter) because there are so many .600″ butt diameter shaft sizes. The Mid Size and Jumbo or Oversize have thicker wall thicknesses which is how their larger sizes are created. For the most part the grip manufactures a standard grip size measures .900″ in diameter measured at 2″ down from the top edge of the grip. A Mid Size grip measures .960″ and a Jumbo or Oversize measures 1.020″ in diameter. Here is a link to a grip sizing chart on our web site that explains how to create different grip sizes based on grip core size and shaft butt diameter and build up tape that measures .010″ thick. https://www.golfworks.com/images/art/GripSizing2.pdf
