Going to bite the bullet and make a 3 wood with a Maltby head. I’ve been hitting a 2 hybrid lately but not getting the yardage I need. I’m most interested in playability for this club, doesn’t have to be fancy. I’m playing traditionally tighter fairways, but I just need a club that’s going to give me a little confidence. I’m open to suggestions but it must be Maltby. Many thanks.
Because Maltby fairway woods are 5 grams lighter than traditional weights (205 vs 210) you might consider trimming less off the tip of the shaft. Lighter head weights are ideal for building longer clubs but the weight difference does have an influence on loading the club in the swing.
