Hi Folks,
Can I replace a 57 gram shaft in my G15 driver with an NV 67 Gram shaft and then cut the butt end by approximately 3/4 to adjust for swing weight.
Thanks,
Tom

I’m assuming that your trimming the shaft an additional 3/4″ than the original shaft?
increasing the weight of the shaft by 10 grams will cause approximately an increase of 1 swingweight, trimming the shaft by 3/4″ will decrease the swing weight by 4-5 points. Few other variables are involved also.
Try trimming it to a 45.25 length this should get you close. Ping seems to typically have a 45.75 driver, with a light weight shaft that’s counter balanced to a SW of D3 or D4. If you order a alternate shaft such as their tour version shafts they come .5 short to reduce the swing weight since they are slightly heavier and not counter balanced. If you don’t like the feel you can trim an additional.25 and drop another swing weight or so. Have fun and good luck!
