Good evening I looked at the reviews for the TS 2 irons and TS 1 irons 1 the reviews are amazing can’t wait to buy the blade style TS 1 irons .I guess my question is would it make any sense to put a soft polymer inside a driver head maybe like a double-walled driver and sandwich the polymer between the two walls and maybe FairwayWoods for better feel and face flex or would it decrease in distance ?
Double faces have been done before and the USGA ruled that if you had two faces, they had to be touching. Nothing could be in-between. Now, it all comes down to the CT or COR. Not a real reason to go to the complexity of a double wall design, with a polymer, when it can’t really enhance performance over what we can achieve now with the materials we have and the fact that the USGA restricts what can be done to enhance ball speed off the face. We can inject polymers inside a head to enhance or improve sound, and “sticky” material has been used for this for a long time. If we were to consider doing something like what you describe, we would definitely need to check with the USGA.
