Hi, what player attribute was used for women’s standard club length? My current set matches the women’s length listed on your document, I am 5’4″ w/ wrist to floor at about 32″. Also, will there complications when ordering KBS FLT shaft due to the variable flex pattern, I want the R+ in womens length. Thank you, very happy to have found this site, learning lots.
The standard lengths we list for “Women” are based on research Ralph has done on women golfers over the years. To some extent, they are also based on the accepted clubhead, shaft and grip weights. It is important to understand that there really is no standard and so called “standard lengths” will vary from manufacturer to manufacturer. We always defer to the player or clubfitter to select the best specifications to fit the individual, for men or women. Also, a wrist to floor measurement has no bearing on determining club length. Ralph talks about this in all of his books. As far as being able to use the KBS FLT at the shorter lengths, that should not be a problem. You would go with the lengths of each taper tip to match the club number as usual, and simply cut to your final playing length from the butt end. The playability should not be affected.
