I’ve got a interesting problem. I tried some weights from a KE4 S head that are 4 grams In a KE4 Tour head and some did not fit. I’ve also got some 2 gram screw in weights and wanted to pop them into an older forged head and they did not fit. The weights sometimes do not fit flush into the weight ports. I’m finding the heavier weights are the weights that tend not to fit flush. The 2 gram weights are indeed a hair shorter than the heavier screw weights. There’s not much I can do about it, but I thought I’d let everyone know. Anybody having this problem?
Here is what I have found. All the current triangle weights fit flush or below flush in the current KE4 Tour heads. Even checked them in a previous KE4 Tour model #6 iron and all fit flush or below flush. The current triangle weights are not all perfectly flush in the current KE4 S heads. I found the 2 gram and 4 gram weights were flush to .2 mm raised, which is hardly noticeable. The 12 gram and 14 gram were approximately .4 mm (that’s 4/10 of a mm) above flush. I checked all the new triangle weights on a #6 iron of the older model KE4 Forged head and all the weights were flush to below flush. We did have to change the weights (from the original 3 prong weights) when we had to re-tool the KE4 S iron. Some of the old 3 prong weights would not have fit flush or even close to flush on the new KE4 S iron and the 12 and 14 gram weights might not have been perfectly flush on the KE4 Tour heads. I know not flush is not ideal, but all I have found are pretty close to flush with the current heads and screws. I’ll check some more heads and screws and post if I find anything else. Thanks for letting us know what you are experiencing.
I will check all of our current screws in the KE4 heads. To the best of our knowledge, when we made the change to the triangle screw, all the screws fit all of our current KE4 models. Some of the older 3 prong screws in the heavier weights did not fit absolutely flush in some of the heads, but the new screws, at least when we tested before the change, all fit and fit flush. I’ll get back to you on this.
I have a set of KE4S and when switching out weights on the wedge head the new weight will not screw in flush. It sticks a few millimeters out which is not aesthetically a winner. Must be in the tooling of the grooves.
