Have C Taper lite Stiff in my RSI Tp Irons and I’m losing distance! Seems to spin to much even though Trackman said different!! Don’t trust the thing!!! What would be a better shaft for me with 103 driver swing speed. 86 6 iron speed. I am PGA pro, 55 years old; don’t play much anymore, but I want a shaft that will give me some distance but maintain accuracy. Mid flight preferred. Hit my Cobra MB’s further than RSI’s. MB’s have Dynalite Gold XP Stiff in them! Appreciate any suggestions since Trackman indoors is a crapshoot!!!
Since both the RSI TP and the Cobra MB have the same lofts (at least the specs we have checked indicate they do and assuming you have not changed them) the distance difference might well lie in the dynamics of the shaft. Without seeing you hit shots, the best we can do is offer general suggestions. I am also assuming the club lengths are the same. My first inclination would be to try the Dynalite Gold XP in the RSi’s but that shaft is no longer in production. It was a low bend point, soft tip shaft, which means it definitely had a softer overall profile the the C-Taper Lite. It was also around 117 grams. You might take a look at the Nippon N.S. Pro 950 GH. It is listed as a mid/high trajectory with mid spin and is lighter at around 98 grams. If distance is the main concern, you want to go as light as you can and still maintain the feel you prefer, and try to stay with a med to softer tip like the XP.
