Will cupface or slot technology produce more ball speed all things equal same shaft loft than Maltby heads
Totally dependent on materials, design, etc. Very limited to what can be done in irons and the more loft you have, the less the effect. You might can get fractional increases in the longer irons because the lofts are less. How much are you really talking about in distance? Not much. We have done some testing and seen slight increases (maybe 2 – 3 yards) on high club head speed players. Lower club head speed players, we did not see any difference. Very small sampling and in no way a definitive comparison test. Would need a lot more testing at a variety of speeds to come up with any real conclusion.

Thanks Britt for your answer. Just what I thought little help in long irons, but at 76 years young in Apr. don’t have speed to hit long irons any more use hybrid now . Have mostly used Maltby iron heads over the years have had good lock with them.
