I’m new to Maltby, and am in the market for a new 3W and 5W. I’m a fairly low handicap player (somewhere between 0 and 3 depending on the time of year) and don’t have a problem with getting the ball in the air.

Between the UFW and KE4 ST-F, which one would generally be recommended for me? Hard to tell from the photos, but the KE4 appears to have a little bit of offset, and maybe a larger clubhead, which leans me toward the UFW. That said, the description of the UFW makes it seem like it may be a higher launching clubhead. I saw mention of a “deep faced” KE4 on the page, but can’t seem to find it anywhere on the site. Has it been discontinued?

Any advice would be appreciated. Thanks y’all!

I purchased the deep faced KE4 ST-fd and it is awesome. Super look, great distance off the tee and with decent club head speed, it’s plays like a rocket from the fairway and light rough. The club pak with the Paderson Kinetix shafts is a nice combo.

I have tried all 3 of above F/W heads and the UFW is by far and away the best F/W head Maltby have done for a long time. With the MPF Pro Series shaft I have found it launches on a great trajectory and is very workable to fade or draw. Just love the shape and head size.

The KE4 ST-F is an excellent fairway club used by players of all levels. It has a face height of 1.281” so it is easier to hit high.

The KE4 ST-F model used to have a deep face model. It was the KE4 ST-Fd. Face height was 1.50”, so the vertical center of gravity was not as low. I don’t need help with trajectory and this is still the model I use. Although it has been discontinued, there is a new line which also has a deep face – the STf. It’s also 1.50”. The UFW is an excellent new line which does have a “low and deep COG location (which) produces a high initial launch angle with a boring trajectory for increased distance and forgiveness“ as it says on the UFW web page – https://www.golfworks.com/maltby-ufw-fairway-woods/p/ma0282/. This is offered in 3, 5, 7, and 9 and is designed for the majority of players who need help with trajectory. Face height is 1.35”.

All these models are excellent and will perform well. Hope this helps you with your decision. Michael
