You may have answered this question before, but I’m curious as to why on the black versions of the MMB and DBM irons the grooves are closer together than they are on the more traditional looking satin or mirror finished irons. Is there a technical reason or just a design preference?

The grooves on the MMB-17, the MMB BLACK and the DBM are all exactly the same. Same design. Same number of grooves on the 6 iron. All have our multi-groove design where there is actually up to 3 more grooves on the face than a model like the TE. All are conforming. We simply have not felt the need to switch over the TE to multi-grooves, with all the other options.
