If you have to use a lot of heat the polymer could be affected, but it would take a lot of heat for more time than it should take to remove a head for there to be damage. When we were developing, we actually cut pieces in half that were production samples. The cutting in half generated a lot of heat and there was no compromise of the polymer. Texture and consistency stayed in tact.
Unless you had to get the head glowing red hot, I really think your OK. If you notice something different in sound or feel, let me know. We may want to get that piece back and cut it in half to check out. We would replace it for you.
