I have a set of left handed irons that I like and have had for several years. These irons are now obsolete and are non conforming with the USGA due to their groove configuration. Without having to buy a new set of irons, is there any way to transform the clubs by altering the groove configuration to make them legal (i.e. placing a thin permanent steel layer with a conforming groove grid structure over the non conforming club face)? Thanks for any advice.

Golfworks may be able to do the work.

I would think they would need to be submitted to the USGA to be blessed.
