looking at assembling a set for a 10 year old Junior (54″ tall) with .370 & .335 bore depths. Since the set will be much shorter than even a women’s set, what flex or frequency range should I be looking for?
With Juniors, I have always wanted to get them as much flex as possible when making shorter clubs. Unless the 10 year old is really strong and or swings it really good (in which case you can get away with a little firmer shaft), I try to get some flex into the shaft to help with feel and trajectory. Starting with L flex or A flex would be preferable. Graphite is a great option for beginning juniors because there are more lightweight options. don’t really have a frequency range not knowing the exact length, but I wouldn’t focus too much on a specific frequency. Just make sure the club has some flex and is a good overall weight for their overall strength level.
