When installing through-bore steel shafts in irons, do I still tip them as normal shaft installation?
In irons, unless otherwise noted by the shaft manufacturer, tip trimming is based on a standard bore option. Installing into a thru-bore will make the shaft play stiffer if trimmed by the instructions. Trimming 1 inch less for a bore through, as Troy mentioned, will make the shafts play truer to the designated flex.
