Did you guys help design or evaluate their new TA1 line at all? Any idea if they use good materials comparable to the Maltby lines?
We had some extra adaptors, but I checked and I have not been able to find any more. They were never for sale, but If I had one I could get you one. Let me continue to look to see if we can find one. We built all the last TA1 Drivers and shipped them out a month or so ago. It is possible that maybe a Golf Galaxy store might have an extra adaptor, but could not say for sure. Maybe send me a reminder next week. I will make a not to ask our production guys next week. They are out today.
I hit the TA1 irons, hybrids and driver at a long indoor session a couple months ago. I found them to be excellent performers and they seemed a real value to me. If I did not have a set of Maltby TS-2’s to make and play, I may have bought them on one of the sales. I have also looked at their Atomic irons and they look quite nice.
We were not directly involved in the design, but we did evaluate pre-production models for MPF and advised on a few points. The playability actually came out to 765 points putting it in the Super Game Improvement category. We have advised their team over the years on details of design that make clubs more playable. Generally we do evaluate product they are designing during the process, but we have not designed product for them. We have advised them on manufacturers in the past the TA product is manufactured at a quality facility we have used and continue to use. Materials and processes are top quality.
We are doing all the custom assembly for the Tommy Armour line. Stock assembly is done overseas, like most OEM’s, but the custom builds for the TA line are done here at The GolfWorks.
