I remember the Fire Steel from back in the day. Very difficult to understand why you are having the difficulty you are without seeing you hit the wedges. The S going left could be simply the lie angle is not right for you. There are a lot of great options with a variety of sole designs that could really be beneficial, but again, without evaluating you it’s hard to make a specific recommendation. If you just want to try another wedge in the 56, you might look at our M+Series. It is the most versatile line we carry. We also have an FGT wedge with is a little larger profile that some like for the Sand Wedge. We also have the new TSW wedges with a very versatile sole design that many players prefer. You should be able to use the S wedge from the sand or fairway, or rough. Not knowing the specs of the Fire Steel (lie angle, sole width, bounce angle), I can’t say if there is something about it that is causing your problem. The only guidance I can give is to have the lie checked on the S to see if is in line with the other wedges. It could be too upright, which will influence shots to the left (for a right handed player). If so, it can be bent to the proper lie for you. Other than that, you could simply try an new 56 to see if it works, or get a proper wedge fitting from a qualified fitting professional.

I was hoping you had specs on the firesteel as I saw it rated in the MPF.
The S of the set seems a little heavy. I looked at swing weight and it was a little higher that the rest, C8/9 for 4-9: D1/2 for 10: C8/9 for A: D2/3 for S D1/2 for L. I had cut them a little different for length starting at 35.75 with 10 and going down 0.25. I really had never been able to tell the difference of 4 or 5 swing points but maybe with the wedges I can. I the bounce is also different with the S.
I have looked at the M+ series and was thinking about trying the 56 & 60 for that, maybe trying a low bounce S. I am not worried about bunker play, I use both L and S from the sand and the L is great. Could bounce have an effect. You didn’t mention it so I am guessing no, but that is the only other difference I know about. I have checked lie (not on a lie machine, I was only a hobbyist and couldn’t afford that!) and I am reasonably confident that is not different.
I understand not knowing the numbers makes it difficult, but as I said, I hoped that as you had analysed them at some point you might have that info. Thanks for the input
