I reshafted 2 old Big Bertha fairway woods. I don’t know what grit belt to used to smooth off the graphite shafts where they protrude slightly through the sole. I already epoxyed the plugs in and cut them off. Thanks.
not sure what type of rig you’re using. I use a Jet Grinder with a Multi-tool attachment.
the few bore thru’s I do, I start with 100 grit belt, then use either a red or blue scotchbrite belt (i guess these are about 120-200 grit). Blue would be finer.
years back i used the 1″x30″ belt sander with a 80 grit belt, then used a standard 200 grit belt. not real pretty, but got the job done.
here’s an excellent video that should show you exactly how to proceed. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=hNYXrzxEuoU
For clarification, I am asking the approximate grit rating of the belt I should use – or what GolfWorks belt should I buy – see https://www.golfworks.com/search.aspx?ss=belt. Should I use the ferrule turning belt?
