Looking at buying another members irons but they have ball striking marks on the face, he’s a scratch golfer and still gets the same results when he hits the ball. I’m wondering if they will work for me and can I do anything to repair that Mark or is the only way to fix that is return the irons to Mizuno? Appreciate your feedback as always, cheers Colin…
It depends if the marks are severe enough that he face is not flat, or if they are simply surface impact marks that have warn off the blasted portion of the face. If the ace is not flat, they are done. Don’t buy them. If they are flat but the wear marks have worn off the face blast, they can be repaired, but require stripping the chrome, cleaning any nicks, etc. from the head, then re-chroming and re-sand blasting the face. A light sand blast might be able to be done on the face without compromising the chrome, but if there are wear marks, the chrome is probably getting thin and the blast would remove it leaving the head material unprotected, meaning it will rust. I don’t know if Mizuno has any kind of re-furbishing service. You might need to contact them to find out.
