#7 iron head weights, at least ours, have been around 268 for a long time. 266-268 now. I went back 20 years an they were the same. Went back 30 years and found a few at 269-270 grams. It is true that lengths for some manufacturers have become longer and head weights have had to be adjusted to accommodate. I would say most standard lengths for 7 irons are 37″, but some models, depending on the manufacturer, may be longer. Agreed that head weight changes have more to do with length than the shaft weight changes, from a manufacturing standpoint, but shaft weight should be considered as well. I think where we are, at 266-268 grams on a #7 iron head weight, is a solid weight for the most common standard length of 37″ for a 37 iron.
As far as the KE4 Forged being a replacement for the Tour+, I guess the best answer would be kind of. It’s a different shape, different material and stronger lofts, so should have some different playing characteristics. Both are very forgiving, but the KE4 Tour+ was a rated more forgiving in the MPF (866 UGI vs 756 SGI). Not that much difference really, but a little. STi2 2nd Gen is 776, so very similar to the KE4 Forged. STi2 would have slightly stronger lofts as well.
