I have read with interest the many questions and answers dealing with MOI, COG and club design. For a golfer considered a “digger” or having a steep angle of attack, what iron head in the current inventory is best suited for that type of swing profile?
Generally designs with wider soles and more bounce are better for steep attack angles. So you might take a look at KE4 MAX, TS3.5, STi2 irons. The KE4 MAX sole is progressive and not as wide as the others, but it has a little more front to back radius which is helpful. TS3.5 is the widest sole at .900″. STi2 is a little less at around .850″.

I was just thinking about this and I was wondering how it worked.
Colin Montgomery immediately comes to mind, he was steep, took divots and played the wide sole callaway irons.
