I am newer golfer. I am torn between the sti2 and KE4 Max. I struggle with gapping and working on keeping my face closed. Both look like great options but if anyone has any advice or suggestions it would be appreciated!

Both are good options. The KE4 Max is an ultra Game Improvement category iron and would be the most forgiving. The STi2 2nd Gen iron is a Super Game Improvement iron and is also very forgiving. If you base the decision on just forgiveness, the KE4 Max would be the choice. It also has the weight adjustability option. Both perform well and both are great sellers with great feedback.

I have played both the KE4 Max and Sti 2nd Generation. The KE4 are extremely forgiving and long! I had trouble with distance control with them, getting ‘hot shots’ occasionally that flew the green. I also hit them too high. The Sti are much more controllable. You can flight them down if you want, I had trouble keeping the KE4 irons down.
Both great irons depending on what you’re looking for. I sold the KE4’s to a friend who was looking for more height and he is thrilled with them. There is something for everyone in the Maltby line!
For myself I feel that shorter length blade irons are easier to keep square or slightly closed than the longer blade iron designs. It’s not a huge difference but it’s there for me. YMMV
