I’m doing shaft comparisons for an upcoming TS3 build for myself. So far, I’ve tested the Score LT and the 950GH shafts (950 barely edged out the Score). I was planning to also test the Zelos 8, 950GH Neo, and Pro Modus 105. I thought I’d get the “soft tip” thing out of the way by building next with the Zelos 8, but when I frequency checked it I got 265, which is L flex for a 37.25″ 7i. So, I tested the Neo and the 105 and got 300-305. This correlates well with the Score at 308 and the 950 at 302. I have a calibration rod for my frequency machine, and it reads right on the calibration number. Is something wrong with the Zelos 8 shaft I have or is it expected to test at L when it’s an R shaft?
Thanks!
I went ahead and tested a TS3 with this shaft against a TS3 with the 950GH. I expected the Zelos 8 to perform well, since my current gamers are Srixon ZXi4s with KBS TGI 60 shafts, and the MPF profiles are similar. They did not feels well at all, and the only way I could get reasonable flight was to slow my swing down considerably. The 950GH was superior in every launch monitor datapoint (distance, dispersion, flight, face impact, dynamic loft, Launch, Descent) and in the subjective quality of “feel”. It was a worthy test, but on to the battle gf 950GH and NS Modus Tour 105. The final test will involve the 950GH Neo. Any suggestions on other shafts I might try?
