Well, of course all are good choices, but you’re going to need to decide what you prefer looking at. You can evaluate the specifications and I’m sure you have an idea on the kind of set up, so without going through an entire fitting it’s difficult for me to be precise in any recommendation.
The SMT 579 is a hollow body, cavity filled iron with modern strong lofts, so like a players distance iron. Our TS1-IM would be in that category if you’re looking for something with more of a traditional players profile.
The TS3 is our best seller. Very stable and forgiving and works for a broad range of players, from low handicaps to mid and high. It is true forged from 1025 Carbon steel and has tungsten co-forged internally to optimize weighting and cg location. Little wider sole and lower cg location than the TS1-IM and slightly stronger lofts, but not as strong as the SMT’s your playing. To match those loft specs the TS3.5 would be the choice. It is basically the distance iron version of the TS3. Very slightly wider sole, but similar offsets.
I think you do need to consider the loft specs since the SMT’s are so strong. If yo go to a model with weaker lofts, you will hit them shorter, most likely. that may not be an issue, but something to consider.
As far as shafts, specs show the SMT bassara shafts in regular flex are 64 grams, have a low bend point and are a high trajectory shaft. Our MPF Pro Series+ in R flex is 70 grams with a low/mid bend point and a mid/high trajectory profile. Not exactly the same but close and is a very stable and great performing shaft. Really like the Mitsubishi Tensei Silver iron offering as well. 73 grams and a mid trajectory. Might look at the Fujikura Vista Pro offerings as well. Rapport offering are another great choice. Can’t really go wrong from a quality standpoint with any of these. Just need to decide what exactly you want from a weight standpoint first, then consider the trajectory profile.
I really like our MPF Pro Series+ shafts for the fairways and hybrids. We developed them for those designs and have had a lot of success with them. We also worked with VA Composites to develop the Rapport line, which has iron, hybrid, fairway and driver specific options. Really good shafts as well. Of course Mitsubishi and Fujikura choices are excellent as well.
The difference in the Max driver the Pro is the spin. Pro is a much lower spinning head for most players. Max will fit more players and produce from a little more spin to more spin depending on your set up. Best overall for forgiveness would be the MAX.
Apologies for giving too many choices. Hopefully this helps some with what options to consider.

I’ve gone over all the specs and realize I might lose some distance with the TS 3. My priorities are forgiveness, accuracy, feel and distance consistency in that order. Have played the prior generation pro series and Mitsubishi Kuro Kage black and really liked both. I wouldn’t mind lowering my trajectory a little from the Bassaras. As far as driver shaft I’m considering the Kai’li Blue but would be open to other suggestions. Driver is 88-91 mph. My biggest miss a push and that’s on me, lol. Have considered trying pro series + UL. Possibly Tensei AV orange for fairways. Also the Pro Series+ are in consideration. Thoughts?
