I absolutely love my TS4s (have 2 sets) but having trouble dialing in a shaft without playing swap roulette. I was surprised to like the feel of the Score LT trimmed to S+ but they just still peak too high. It’s impossible to get fit locally using a TS4 head so I’m curious what mainstream major brand head has similar characteristics that I could play around with shaft fittings to get me somewhere in the ballpark?
I couldn’t really compare any OEM model to the TS4. You can look at our MPF database and see how they compare in overall playability (for the irons we have measured). Best you could do is probably find a blade profile model with similar loft. Taylor Made P770 has the same 33 degree loft on a #7 iron, Callaway X Forged also has the same loft on the #7 iron, as does the Titleist T100. The Mizuno S-1 and S-3 have 34 degrees loft on the #7 iron. So at least you could compare same lofts on the same category of irons, meaning blade irons.

The Actual VCOG for the TS4 is .761, which is great for a blade design and what we wanted to generate the launch conditions we were targeting. Even though the lofts on the TS4 are not as strong as some other irons, they are still stronger than traditional blades of years past and consistent with other blades type designs on the market. In designing the iron, I wanted the AVCOG to be as low as possible, but in the right place to deliver the launch conditions I wanted, which I would not consider high. I play them and I prefer to hit a mid to lower trajectory on shots, and they work perfectly for that. I can hit them high if needed, but stock shots find a good mid trajectory window, for me. Loft influences trajectory far more than vertical cg. If you hit them really high, even after strengthening the lofts, then it may not the club causing the high launch. That being said, I suppose, all other things being equal when comparing to the other irons you listed, the vertical cg could influence trajectory higher if the only difference is the vertical cg being lower on the TS4’s. Still, and I do want to emphasize, the loft will influence vertical launch far more than vertical cg.

I guess as a follow up is there something about the VCOG of the TS4s that drive a high launch condition? Like is that a design characteristic of this specific head? Even with mine bent 1-2* strong the 7ir launch (with ideal strike conditions) is pretty elevated compared to some other heads I’ve played (P7MB, P770, TM CBs)
