Our standard Build Up tape (BU-2) is .010″ thickness. We have a Full Size Build up tape (GW1118) that is .015″ thick. If your just wanting to go to .600 from .580, You can use the standard and add two wraps. If you go with the full size, you will actually be .005″ under your .600 with one wrap and .010″ over with two wraps.
We have a grip sizing guide on our website at the link below. Go there and then click the link to the chart. There is explanation about tape thickness in the right hand column. The .010″ and the .015″ measurements come from those tapes being wrapped around the shaft. The standard tape is actually .005″, but when wrapped around the shaft the measurement added is .010″. The full size is actually .075″, but when wrapped around a shaft, the added size is .015″.
