So I extend the shaft 1.25inches yesterday and apon hitting the 4th shot the ####*** shaft broke, as you’ll recall I’ve broken 2 other shafts that I glued but not this one. 3 years ago I bought a M3 driver with this shaft in it but sold that M3 head with a different shaft, so it’s snapped at the end of the adapter ferrule and the setup was something I’ve not seen before. It has a piece of plastic strip coming out of the adapter, didn’t know this was something that could be done and or why it’s done. Should I contact the previous owner who is a Long drive championship winner? So I’m now going to extend another shaft and see what develops, onwards and upwards lol…

is it clear epoxy like TSP4C?
migrated up the shaft and caused a shear point?

Maybe your right, a friend thinks it’s the problem. I’m trying to talk to the previous owner next week and will post here what he says.

Question: The strip of plastic is longer than the adapter, was it folded in two with the shaft between plastic? I don’t see any epoxy residue on plastic and still looks flexible. What is the type / flex of shaft that broke? Was the shaft properly seated in hosel? Best to contact previous owner; those long drive guys have a lot of tricks lol.

Fujikura XRL8 regular 56grams, a friend thinks it’s clear epoxy resin that run down inside the shaft. I’m going to have a conversation with the previous owner next week when I visit the Golf course he works at and will post here what he says, I’m swinging in the high 90’s so don’t believe I could snap a shaft with no damage lol

So finally spoke with Tom previous owner and he bought the shaft from a big golf clubs/range shop, so no idea who or what glue or experience the assembly guy has. And I’m left holding the bath water lol, 3 years later no warranty but I’ve got a 3 wood or something like that shaft with a strong tip….
