I built a set of TS3 irons with LA Golf L Series Shafts. I absolutely love them, and my new favorite club off the tee is a 4 iron fairway finder that goes about 220. Id love a 3 iron, as the 4 still travels high and lands soft. Is there something comparable in the Maltby line? What would happen if I bought a 4 iron, removed some weight (from the hosel?) and bent it 2.5 degrees strong to make it a “3” iron?
You could get another 4 and bend it a few degrees stronger, but not much room to remove weight. You might want to look at the KE4 FDI Hybrid “Driving Irons”. I am carrying the #3 and #4 with my set of TS4’s. I hit the #3 off the tee, a lot and the #4 is just easier to hit than the standard #4 in the set. That would be what I would suggest. You could actually go with the #2 FDI and it with it being 19 degrees and 236 rams standard weight, it would fit right in loft and head weight wise with the TS3 set, both in loft progression and head weight progression to make it 1/2″-3/4″ longer than the #4 TS3 iron.

Not sure you can. We just don’t sell that many #3 irons in sets anymore. To develop and order a minimum quantity would take a while and we would have too many. That being said, I will evaluate.

assuming you can’t rebuild an entire line of clubs to satisfy just me, do you know the MPF of the ping I-crossover? I feel like it’s a similar Low COG club, but I have no idea what im talking about.
I’d buy the ts3 3i. I game the 4-5 in my set. They’re so buttery and easy to hit flush I keep wishing I could get a 3
thanks Britt. I’ve hit the KE4 FDI 4 iron in an attempt last year to find a good long iron. While I am playing a different shaft, the TS3 4 iron dramatically fits me better.
