I recently bought a KE4 19 degree 3 hybrid to replace my old Callaway Steelhead 19 degree 3HB. I am having contact issues (hitting off the toe, thin, sometimes very high, a persistent heavy fade, etc.) with the Maltby and when I hit it square, I get little distance; generally about 130. With the Callaway I was getting a reliable 170ish yards with a nice ball flight. I’ve had my share of poor shots but fewer ones. Both have regular shafts.

The KE4 swing weight is C-5, the Callaway is C-8. Would that SW difference affect the performance that much?

I am 72 and a 21 handicap; not a long hitter. I cannot believe the older club is better than the KE4. My other Maltby clubs are better than what they replaced.
