On both the older STi and the current TS2 irons, when I position them in my loft and lie measuring gauge with the grooves parallel to the plate, the soles are touching on the toe side of center. If I center the sole, then the lines are skewed. Which way is correct to measure the lie angle? I’m assuming it’s centering the sole.

yepper, center the sole (i usually mark the face with a sharpie), and yes the lines will be skewed.

Centering the sole is always the way to properly measure the lie angle. We try to get the grooves and center of sole to match, but difficult to get them exact.
