I need to have an estimated swingweight to determine if I will need to order tip weights

I want to build myself a TS3 Five Iron with a Fujikura Vista Pro 60i, 67g graphite shaft. The heads have recently come in, and I want to try one.

The playing length will be 38 1\2 inches.

The grip will be a Golf Pride white tour wrap that weighs 65g.

Based on this info, what will the potential swingweight of this club be. I looking for something in D0 to D3 range.

Based on the information you have given, and using a swing weight calculator that we use, the swing weight will be around C4. The ultra light shaft and the heavier grip are part of the reason. Based on that, you would need 12 grams to just get to D0. that is OK, but 10 grams is usually the most we want to see added with tip weights to increase swing weight. Options are to use a heavier shaft, a lighter grip or make the club longer, which I don’t recommend if the 38.5 playing length fits you. A combination of tip weights and lead tape (if you don’t mind the look of the lead tape) would allow you to add more head weight.

I would add that these swing weight calculators are not always that accurate. Could be a +- 2 or 3 swing weights to what you get in the actual build. So you definitely need to dry fit all the components and measure the swing weight on an accurate, balanced scale. that is the only way to know for sure.
