I recently swapped to FST Pro 125 shafts tipped in X flex at +1/2 length. They are launching perfectly for my TS3 5i to PW set, they play perfectly for my swing. However, I installed one in the 4u TS-UI head and it’s launching very low. Does this head not play well with steel shafts? If so, any recommendations for graphite shafts to check out?
If that’s not the issue what else should I tweak?
No real reason the TS-UI head wouldn’t perform with the same shaft, except sometimes they just don’t. I have the SteelFiber 95 S in a TS-UI #4 iron and my set is Nippon Pro Modus 120 S flex. Just plays better, for me, with that shaft vs the same steel that is in my set.
There could be another steel shaft that would work, so don’t think you have to try graphite, but you might consider. Maybe lighter weight, whether you try steel or graphite, would be worth trying. Generally, I have found that when players struggle with longer irons or driving irons, a lighter shaft can make them struggle less and even perform at a high level. Does not have to be a lot lighter, but a little lighter and maybe even a little less stiff, two elements that can make them easier to hit.

I have a dynamic golf 105 s300 that I can give a try and if that doesn’t work I’ll swap over a hazardous smoke 6.0 hybrid shaft to try.
