I’ve been a PING iron fan ever since I first picked up the old Eye2s, so naturally I’ve been trying to figure out how the STi2 irons stack up against something like PING’s G430 lineup or even their i240 series. Honestly, I’m leaning toward the STi2s mostly because PING has kind of priced me out of their gear lately.

I’ve drifted from a 5 index up to an 8, so I’m definitely looking for irons that can give me a little more help. I guess what I’m really looking for is a nudge—some reason to feel confident about choosing the STi2s.

I would watch Let’s Play Thru on YouTube. He does a great review of the Gen2’s. The fact that they aren’t even a super game improvement iron but more so a players iron almost talked me into getting them. Not as good looking as the Ts1’s but if I was interested in that type of club I would recommend them for sure. I’ve also heard they look way better in person than on the website -Colton

The review on Let’s Play Thru is good. You should watch it. The STi2 2nd gen irons ARE a Super Game Improvement iron (772 MPF points in the Maltby Playability Factor). Not only do they have high playability and forgiveness, they are an incredible value at the price vs Ping or any other major OEM’s. I would suggest building a #7 iron and trying it out. That way, if for some reason it’s not right for you, you haven’t invested in the entire set. I’m pretty confident you will like it.
