I’ve been playing with the STi2 irons for a while now and as a high-handicap golfer, I honestly need about all the forgiveness they have to offer. They’ve been great for keeping my bad swings playable.

That said, I’ve always loved the feel of a forged iron, so the new KE4 Max Forged irons have really caught my attention.

I know they both land similarly on the MPF chart, so are the KE4 Max Forged close to the STi2 on mishits, or is there a noticeable drop-off? I did play TS3s for a bit and noticed my mishits were punished more with them than the STi2, though the MPF of the TS3s is higher.

I’m also curious about the stronger lofts. I do okay speed wise and don’t have much issue getting the STi2s up in the air, so I’m wondering if the lower lofts actually make them easier to hit and produce more consistent distances or if they just launch too low for someone like me.

Basically, am I giving up too much forgiveness by moving from the STi2 to the KE4 Max Forged just to gain that forged feel, or is it a worthwhile upgrade for a higher-handicap player?
