I’m currently debating what club fits me more at the top of my bag. I’m thinking about getting either the TS-UI or a Maltby hybrid, but I’m unsure which is the better choice. Besides getting a fitting, how do golfers know that a utility iron or a hybrid better suits their game? Is it purely just based on swing speed? Would that change based on shaft weight or clubhead weight?

Also, if I did decide to get the TS-UI, I am planning on cutting it one inch short so that it’s the same length as my 5-iron. I know that can drastically change the swingweight, but what kind of screw weight would I need to add to the utility iron to get that weight back (or is it just a bad idea in general to have a utility iron the same length as a 5 or 6 iron)?
