Feel is a funny thing. I think the feel of both the MMB and the TS-1 are great, but they are slightly different. Of course, the feel of any club has a lot to do with the shaft, the ball, the grip, etc. Assuming everything is exactly the same, I would categorize both of them as extremely solid. Since the TS-1 is a thin face, polymer filled, three piece design, some might hear or feel a slight difference. I personally really can’t tell the difference, but some might.
As far as the TS-1 design, it was kind of a team effort. Pete Calloway did the design. Pete’s extremely talented and has been designing clubs for The Golfworks for years. He did the initial model with the look, and then we collaborated on getting all the radius, dimensions, specifications, finish, etc. just right. We also worked closely with the manufacturer using the best materials, processes, etc. to get us what we wanted. We take our time to get it right. Was 18 months in development.
The MMB-17 profile was a starting point. We knew the face profile of the MMB-17 is classic and we know we anted this model to be seen as having a classic profile. So, the dimensions do not vary much. We did modify some dimensions and if yo put them down side by side I think yo would notice where they are slightly different. We did reduce lofts on the TS-1’s to be able to compete with the current trends.
