Because of the nature of carbon steel, there is a silver primer that is sprayed in the cavity to prevent the cavity are from rusting.  I don’t have a specific type or brand of primer, but any silver or clear primer that seals the surface should work.

Everyones definition of “mid-size” is different, I suspect, as is what’s “thin” for a topline,  but I consider the Maltby MMB-17 a midsize non cavity blade with not too thick a topline.  I designed it to be the most playable non-cavity “blade” available, based on the Maltby Playability Factor.  to do that, the blade had to slightly longer than traditional muscle back blades and the hosel had to be shorter.  We achieved a Super Game Improvement rating on it and it had been a best seller for us.  It, and the TE and the DBM cavity blades, are the most playable “blade” profile designs we have ever created, and I have not seen another manufacturer hit as high a playability number on a blade category iron.

If you had access to a frequency machine or a flex board you could probably get a general idea.  If you remove the grip there may be identifying marks on the but end of the shaft.

Although there won’t be a significant amount of added length after you install the tip weights, always trim from the butt end, and when the shafts are taper tip, as in this case, you never tip trim those anyway. Hope this helps. Michael

I don’t think you can order them separate from any vendor. You might try contacting Ping to see if they’ll send you one. Or just run a google search to see if someone has one for sale. I found some on e-bay.

If you’re trying to make a 48″ in driver, the 46″ shaft is long enough to do it. Remember that the shaft doesn’t go all the way to the ground, the adapter will plug into the hosel which adds the extra length.

I couldn’t find that particular set on the OEM replacement list, but I’m guessing since the set was designed to be max game improvement, the shafts are going to have a high launch profile.

I was able to find out that the original shafts were 108 grams, so a good option would be KBS Tour 105. Mid/high launch in the same weight category.

If you plan to weight up the heads or weight down the heads so that they are all the same weight, which they have to be for a one length set, then you can effect the MPF.  The MPF is all about the mass and dimensional characteristics of the head.  Change weight, it can effect it.

One lengths from Cobra are all the same length, lie, swingweight etc.  If you are asking about a #1 iron, you’ll have to ask Cobra.  I don’t think they have one.  Single clubs come in 4 thru SW on heir website.  You can order sets 4 thru GW or 5 thru SW or order individual clubs.
