Hi!

Im a 14 handicap – currently play a Ping g425 SFT (draw biased) 5 wood delofted down to 17.5 degrees, stiff shaft- it used to be an absolute weapon for me, favorite club in the bag, could hit it 225 confidently with a little draw off the ground or longer off the tee. As my game has evolved and changed (maybe from lessons maybe some weird new deviation, maybe im in my head…no im definitely in my head) – i went from a baby draw to a big hook as my stock swing with it unless i really try to guide it and folks im not good enough to be trying to guide it. So i have it in my head that I am probably not a good fit for a draw biased head in fairway wood anymore

Anyways I am about to pull the trigger on the KE4 Pro IST Fairway wood with the pro series shaft. curious if you think I am better off getting a 3 and lofting it up or getting a 5 and delofting it to play at around a 4 wood.

well i just read that the 5 is a 17 degree so that may answer the question for me regardless…..but thanks for answering and any suggestions and advice.

I have the 3 wood that I lofted up to 15*. I had the TC 4W at 16* but, being a golf nut I wanted something new. The Pro IST is a smaller head profile than the TC. I really like the performance I get with the Pro IST. I’ve since brought it back to the standard setting but can still get a baby draw off the tee. I’m usually a straight ball or fade type of swing but if I get my setup correct I can draw the Pro IST.

You can’t actually get the 3w up to a 4w loft. It starts at 14* and can only go up to 15*. So you have to go with the 5w and loft down 0.5*.
