It looks like the 2022 Callaway UW uses .335 shafts. But they’re cut to roughly hybrid length (17* and 19* are 41.5″). I’m concerned about swingweight and performance. Would I tip trim the shaft to whatever head weight matched the UW? For example, if it was 222 grams, maybe trim it to 7 wood length? Then when butt cutting down it might stiffen it up more than a typical 7 wood tip trimming because of the shorter length?
I wasn’t sure what Golfworks carries for someone with a 115mph + driver swing speed. Usually I run 70+ gram driver shafts and 80+ gram fairway shafts. Would I be looking at a 90 gram .335? I’ve seen some around, not on Golfworks site and they’re usually special orders or tour models. I usually play with HZRDUS Blue or Proforce V2 in driver/woods. Proforce V2 8F5 or Aldila NV 95 (both tipped) in hybrids and utilities. So, wasn’t sure where those Callaway UW’s sit. They’re funky but I hit the snot out of it. Just need to find a shaft that works a little better and doesn’t balloon as much.
Thanks!
