Last year I purchased the new Maltby fairway woods with Kuro Kage black x-stiff shafts and absolutely love these. The launch and distance I get on the woods is fantastic. However, I got the driver with the new maltby pro x-stiff shaft and don’t feel like the shaft is right for my swing. I am not well informed on differences in shafts but am curious if there is any reason I should not get the same Kuro Kage black shaft for my driver. Its name says wood shaft, so I wasn’t sure if that is applicable to drivers or not since the Maltby shafts have different listings for drivers and fairway woods.
If there is no problem with using this shaft for a driver, if I order the shaft, grip, and adapter is the golfworks team able to cut/assemble the shaft?
I just switched from the hzerdous black 6 S to the 2025 Maltby mpf pro+ dr.l stiff. It feels much better in the midsection and overall more active without being a noodle or boardy.
I use ventus red on my woods but prefer the mid height for my driver.
