I’d like to build my fiance a set of womens clubs. I do not see any Maltby heads in the catalog that mention women specifically. Should I look for a different brand or are there certain head and shaft combonations that are to womens specs?
Currently we do not have any “Womens” specific models. We have had in the past, but we have always believed and taught that that a player should be fit based on their ability, physical strength, athleticism, stature, etc. Other companies usually take models and change the cosmetic and loft specifications of the heads, and make clubs that are lighter and shorter and call them women’s clubs. Pretty much what azstu324 said in his comments.
We have done models like the M890 that we designed to be more for slower swing speeds and those needing maximum forgiveness and they were very popular with Seniors, Juniors and some Women players. We are working on bringing another version of that iron back for 2026. We have models of woods, fairways, hybrids and also current irons that fit for women of all abilities every day. We also have multiple shaft options and grip options.
So, I would say that if she wants the cosmetics you see from other brands of a women’s specific club, we do not currently have something comparable. However, I do think what we have, fit to her specs, would be something to consider. KE4 Max Driver, the right selection of our KE4 Fairways and hybrids and the KE4 Max irons would be a great set up for her, in my opinion. Our Pro Series+, Graftech or possible Rapport graphite shafts and whatever grip fits would provide the playing characteristics that should allow her to have success. Of course, I do not know what level of layer she is, and there may be better choices of the components to fit her ability.

This are great insights from you both. Thank you for the help here. I am glad to find out that we both can get clubs from Maltby. Really liking the customization that Maltby offers at an great price point.
TBH, “women’s” clubs is really just a gimmick created by big golf brands to capitalize on appealing to the female market. The only thing that differentiates them from mainstream clubs is more feminine names and maybe colors. Women’s drivers usually are higher lofted by 1-2°, but you can easily find a higher flight driver without the gender label. You won’t actually find any professional women playing a “woman” specific golf club so that’s a giveaway to the gimmick right there.
You could easily build a great set for your significant other that matches her swing speed and weight preference by using the correct components, i.e. lighter weight and more flexible shafts. The heads can also be adjusted to match her preferred lofts and lie angles, as well as have them cut to her optimal playing length. Now you’ll have a set built for her specifically which will serve her better than a “woman’s” set.
