Hello! I just recently tested a Modus 120 stiff on my TS3 head and absolutely love it over my Modus 115. Easier speed, tighter dispersion, lower flight/spin and just so easy to load. This being said, as much as I love the shaft, I like a pop of something different and was considering the Project X LZ or AMT White shafts in Onyx black. I get the AMT is a different beast in its weight progression and I am assuming kick points. What are your thoughts on which shaft could work near to or possibly better than the Modus 120 for my game? I am not opposed to sticking to the Modus line, but if one of the onyx finishes are just about similar +/- a little bit of height or ease to load, I might go that route due to the onyx. I shared some stats below on how I swing my 7 iron with the modus 120 stiff if that helps. Thank you, and have a great rest of your day!

What I am hearing from Britt is that if the Score what is working for me I should appreciate that they are not expensive and just enjoy the extra $ in my pocket.

While I understand the desire to try different things, when I work with a player that finds that shaft that they “love”, that eliminates the need to try something else, in my opinion. You might be able to find something that works as well, but that could be a long process. Of the shafts you listed, the PX LZ might be somewhat similar to the Modus 120, but to me they play firmer and simply do not feel the same. Not saying they feel bad, just not the same, for me. You might like them better, or not. Just no way to tell without trying.

Take it from someone that tests a lot of shafts, when you find one, stay with it as long as you can. If something changes with you physically due to age, injury, swing change, whatever, that would be when it would make sense to look for another option. We’ll sell you something else to try, but if the performance you get with the Modus 120 is just what you want, I would stay with it.

I play the Modus 120. Have played it now going on 3 years. Still haven’t found anything that is as consistent or works for me better.

Love the feedback. I’ve been testing quite the assortment myself the past year or so. Ive tried Modus 105, 115, 120, recoil, steelfiber, prolaunch….it just goes on. 120 was one of the last shafts I checked out and wish it was one of the first. Then again, finding this unicorn so late really hit well getting to try so many before. Thanks for talking me out of doing something crazy just for the sake of aesthetic! I can always find other ways to get the aesthetic I want, but super fired up to finally find “the one”.
