I currently game Vokey SM9 52/8 F grind and SM9 56/10 S grind. I am looking to replace them with DRT wedges and had some questions about the various DRT grinds. I live in NC with lots of grabby and sticky Bermuda but also some of the courses I play especially during winter when the Bermuda is dormant there are lots of tight lies. The sand at the courses I play can run from medium/soft to hard and thin. (Not a lot of super fluffy resort type of sand.) My swing path and attack angle is neutral to shallow. My initial thought is to go with the 52/6 in G grind and the 56/12 in S or A. Any thoughts or recommendations here? thank you!

Based on what you describe as far as the conditions, the 52/6 G and 56/12 S are good choices. The 52/6 S would also be an option, but there really is not much difference in the G and the S in the 52 degree. The A grind cold work, but it is usually better in neutral to softer conditions and neutral to slightly steeper attack angles. The S grind (S actually stands for shallow) is for neutral to shallower attack angles and neutral to firmer conditions. I play the 48 G grind, the 52/6 S grind and the 56/12 S grind here in Ohio when conditions are normal. When it gets wet or softer, I may switch to the A grind in the 52 and 56, but most of the year last year I played the S and I love them. Best I have ever played, for me, and I have played a lot of different wedges. For what it’s worth.
