I currently have cobra one length (9,8,7,6,P,G,S) irons and 3,4,5 hybrids, all R flex; and need to go to a senior flex because of age. I’m thinking of getting 10 uncut graphite shafts, making the (9,8,7,6,P,G,S) at the 7 iron length and the hybrids at the 4 hybrid length. How do I trim the shafts to maintain the senior flex?
The Cobra one length irons should be all the same head weight, assuming a normal #7 iron head weight (although I don’t know what their “standard” single length iron spec is). If that is the case, you simply trim all the iron shafts as you would a #7 iron. if all the head weights are the same and they are a standard #7 iron head weight, trimming al the shafts for that standard will make them play true to the A flex, whatever ever A flex shaft you buy.
Same goes for the hybrids. if the hybrids are all the same head weights, which they should be, and that head weight is a standard head weight for a #4 hybrid, you would trim the hybrid shafts for a standard #4 hybrid to fit all the hybrids.
I would need to know the actual head weight of the cobra iron and Hybrid to know if any adjustment in the trimming needed to be made based on the head weight.
