Hey there! I’m ready to jump into some super amateur club building. My first project I’m looking to move shafts from an older cobra set into my TS3s. I have all the tools and supplies for the most case.

I am wondering what supplies i need specific to the club. How do i measure/ know what ferrules will work? Is this standard to shaft types (kbs $ taper lite is what I’m moving into) or do I need to measure? Wasn’t really sure what ferrule od meant. Will I need collared? Will I need shims? Anything else I should be aware of / have ready?

sorry for the rookie questions but want to make sure I have everything on hand

First, if your moving shafts from another set, you have to be aware that the hosel bores and hosel lengths are probably different. This means there may be some trimming that needs to be done to get to the proper length, and to cover the prepped area that may be exposed because the hosel lengths and depths are different. Not having the cobra set here to measure, can’t tell you what your up against and even if it is a good idea to move the shafts.

Would be much simpler as a first attempt to put new shafts into the TS3’s, but if your going to use the Cobra shafts, need to know what the tip diameter is. $-Taper Lite shafts come in both .355 taper tip and .370″ parallel tip. The TS3’s will take either .355 or .370 since they are a universal hosel, but need to know to what ID (inside diameter) ferrule you will need. OD (Outside Diameter) of the ferrule should match or be slightly larger than the OD of the hosel. You don’t need a collared ferrule. You should not need shims.

That all makes sense. TBH I am not too fussed about exact length on a first build, more just making sure the head doesn’t fall off! But point taken about starting easier.

The shafts are .355 according to my spec sheet. Are you saying tip diameter determines the ferrule measurements?
