I am in the market for new irons. The direct to consumer option is very appealing to me, however I don’t want to sacrifice quality. Of the direct to consumer options, the 2 that seem to stand out to me are Maltby irons and Takomo irons but I have heard better reviews about Maltby and I like the customization better.
A little bit about my golf game. I’m a 32 year old male, 5’11. I’ve been playing for about 5 years and play taylormade rocketbladez irons currently. I currently hit my 7 iron about 165. I don’t have an official handicap but I typically shoot between 84-92 on any given day. In the past I have struggled with long irons (4,5&6) and feel much more confident in the lower irons. When I do miss hit my irons, it tends to be on the toe or low on the face.
I’m looking for irons that aid in adding distance, and have forgiveness, but I also want something that my game can grow into as my goal is to get into single digit handicaps eventually. I was thinking either TS3, TS1im, or TE+V4 but I’m open to any suggestions.
I wanted to reach out to see what recommendations you would have being that there are many different options on golf works.
(I also plan to go for a club fitting to get my specs and the order online)
Thank you!
Not stating this to sound rude in anyway but why would you go with the Maxfli brand irons when they were modeled after the TS3’s and cheaper than the Maxfli’s as well? Just have a hard time making it make sense.
do not overlook the New Maxfli Irons, offered by G Galaxy & Dicks!
and remember… the clubs alone will not improve your game. Lesson and Practice are as important, if not, more important. Way to many people feel that new clubs will solve current issues.
