I was under the impression that, aside from the finish and lofts, that the new TE V4 was essentially the same as the TE forged. But I noticed the MPF is much higher on the new model, the MOI lower, and a few other diff’s.
The TE+ V4 has modern lofts and is slightly more compact than the original TE. Face profile is probably more similar to the MMB-17 or even the new TS4. The MPF is higher because we improved the horizontal cg location, while maintaining similar actual vertical and rearward cg’s. They are different, but not by much. The longer horizontal cg location makes the head more stable. Ralph would tell you, and does, that a 50 MPF point difference is really not noticeable. Both are very stable designs.

I have the TE and previous iterations, the MMB, MMB-17, MMB-17 DBM and various other Maltby irons including the TE+ DBM aka TE+ V4 black. The TE+ looks like the MMB-17 at address with similar performance.
