.370″ tip shafts were developed to reduce the number of sku’s a company or individual would have to carry and allow for customized trimming for flex. True, as you cut the raw blank to the progressively shorter lengths the weight of the shaft is reduced slightly, but the effect is minimal. In my experience and in blind tests I have done over the years with players, most players could not tell the difference. Some players do prefer the constant weight idea and some companies and builders like not having to cut the tip and the butt end since .355″ are only butt cut. Just personal preference really. If you do use .370″ and feel the need to add some weight to make up for the slight variance in shaft weight that occurs, I suppose you can. Not really sure it’s that necessary or that you would be able to tell the difference, but you might and that is something you would just have to test. I have never noticed any performance difference when comparing tapered vs parallel.
